>i’ll remember forever and ever. and ever.

>We glide through the air on side-by-side swings on the playground. A warm early fall day, with fading light and a smell to the air that promises a chill is soon to come. Her honey blond hair blowing from the force of the swing. Her head hung back and laughing from deep with in. After we jump off the swings, she throws her arms around my neck and says “I yuv you, mama.” “I love you too, Hadley. I know you may not remember this moment, but I’ll remember forever and ever.”

I listen to her soft breath laying next to me on our bed. The morning sun is streaming though the window. The sound of her sisters murmurs and daddy making coffee are a lovely ambient noise of home, that wake her from her slumber. She opens her eyes and she smiles sleepily. “I love you, Hayden. I know you may not remember this moment, but I’ll remember forever and ever.”

And while there are so many moments, so many memories to store in my heart that I may just forget, the feeling of loving my babies will never, ever escape me.

I’ll remember forever and ever. And ever.

>hadley quip

>I think I’ve written before that Hadley loves Dora the Explorer.  I mean LOVES!  And I would like her to be swiped by Swiper, but that really doesn’t matter (did anyone watch Modern Family last night where the gay couple was plotting Dora’s death?).  My child LOVES Dora.  Which also shows that we let her watch the boob tube sometimes.

We are temporarily staying in my mother’s home while I recover from squeezing a watermelon out of a quarter sized hole.  So we decided that since we aren’t paying any rent, and in an effort to keep my mother’s home clean, we would hire a housekeeping service to come every other week.  It’s lovely, since our hands are incredibly full at the moment.  At least two days a month the beds are made and the toilets are clean.
These two very sweet ladies were here today cleaning and Hadley was peeking around the corner of the bathroom at one of them.  She said “Hola” to Hadley and we tried to get her to say “Hola” back.  Instead, she said “DORA! Do, do, do, do, do Dora!”
I was embarrassed, but was a little impressed that she put all that together.

>and then there were four…

We welcomed our new little girl, Hayden Alexandra, on Thursday March 26th at 5:05 p.m.  At 37 weeks and 3 days, Hayden weighed in at 7 pounds and measured 20 inches.  She is beautiful. Looking more like her mama, with glimpses of her big sister.
I can’t describe the feeling of love that overwhelms me…  My heart feels complete.

>favorite moments

>This morning when Hadley woke up she decided to chat my ear off. I closed my eyes while I listened because I was not quite ready to crawl out of bed.

But she wasn’t having it…
She pried my eye open with her little fingers and repeated the unintelligible statement she just made.

>favorite moments

>I decided I would start posting my favorite moments with my kids as they happen. Obviously, there are thousands of favorite moments that precede these, but I have to start somewhere. So here is the first…

This morning while eating breakfast of pancake and banana, Hadley held up a half eaten banana slice to her ear and said “HAWWO.”
I laughed so hard, then had to get the banana out of her hand as she tried to spread it through her hair. Banana does not make good baby hair conditioner.
